Equipment should follow the assessment
An air mover is part of a proposed drying approach, not evidence that all materials can remain. Ask how the business identifies affected flooring, walls and cavities and how the placement of drying equipment relates to those findings.
Prepare access and utility questions
Before equipment arrives, identify who controls the property, electricity and access for follow-up. Discuss occupied rooms, pets and other practical restrictions with the business. Do not move equipment or change settings without its instructions.
Agree on monitoring and completion
Ask when readings will be repeated, which locations are compared and who receives the records. If drying stalls, ask what investigation or material decision follows. Avoid treating an arbitrary number of days as a guarantee that the structure is ready for finishes.
Close the loop before rebuilding
Request a written explanation of the measured condition and anything still unresolved. Ask who will handle source repair, remaining material removal or reconstruction. Preserve the drying records with the estimate and authorization so later decisions refer to the same scope.
Questions that make the estimate clearer
- Which materials and rooms are included?
- Who repairs the source and who handles reconstruction?
- How are changes, monitoring and completion documented?
